Project Manager II – Position Description

 

Reports To:         EVP of Operations                           Status:                  Exempt

Required Travel:              30%

 

JOB SUMMARY
The Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and coordination of activities for assigned projects, and for ensuring a consistently superior experience for Marland Technologies’ customers. The Project Manager monitors compliance of our defined standards for communications, design, delivery, quality assurance, client training, billing and reporting.  Additionally, the Project Manager works closely with the Sales Team to expand Marland Technologies’ value proposition with enterprise accounts.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Effective communication and interaction with employees, clients and colleagues
Troubleshoot and solve project related issues
Understand and maintain project budgets
Effectively manage multiple projects
Demonstrate time management skills with attention to detail
Understand AV system functionality and installation processes and techniques
Understand technical and construction documents
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), Microsoft Project and Adobe Acrobat
Must possess a valid Driver License and be a safe driver

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete projects within assigned budget
Read and interpret electronic schematics and architectural blueprints
Direct all personnel and activities on project site
Read and understand documents for each assigned project including, but not limited to: project scopes of work, bid drawings and specifications, contract, subcontractor scopes of work, and construction schedules
Create and manage the project schedule
Point of contact for all internal and external project communication and documentation for the life of the project
Facilitate internal project kick-off meetings that include key participants from sales, engineering, installation and programming
Acquire daily site progress reports from lead technicians and respond to needs identified
Obtain quotes from qualified subcontractors as necessary
Provide weekly job progress reports to all internal and external stakeholders Coordinate appropriate resources for all assigned projects
Facilitate ordering of materials for projects
Coordinate equipment distribution and shipping to meet project timelines

Manage all internal and external project change orders
Manage or facilitate the testing and certification of installed systems
Ensure clients receive appropriate training on all installed systems
Create and maintain all project related documentation in accordance with company guidelines
Address all project team questions in a timely manner

 

Minimum Qualifications

A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Project Manager in the construction or technology industries is required
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification (Desired)

Have or able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance
Experience in the AV industry is preferred
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience as an AV technician/engineer or within a technology industries is required
Past project management desired
Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent

Have or able to obtain a DoD Security Clearance

Technician Level I – Position Description

Job Summary

Perform basic installation tasks for AV projects including but not limited to: pulling cable, installing connectors, and mounting projects.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
·         Effectively communicate with employees, customers and colleagues
·         Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner
·         Ability to work and think independently and ensuring to meet deadlines
·         Basic computer knowledge
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform basic installation tasks for audio visual projects including but not limited to: pulling cable, installing connectors, mounting projects and metal fabrication
Use hand and power tools to solder and crimp connectors along with various other AV systems related tasks
Assist with basic mechanical fabrication and basic rack wiring
Travel to various job sites required
Other duties assigned as needed

Minimum Qualifications

Up to a year experience as an Installation Technician (desired)
High school degree or equivalent
Superb work ethic
Willingness to learn and follow direction
Electronics background (desired)

·         Sound computer knowledge
·         Minor programming capability (AMX/Creston) – changes and troubleshooting

Audio Visual Engineer – Position Description (levels II & III)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide technical oversight of a project from conception through installation and completion
Review hour estimation for work based on needs analysis, scope of work and bid requirements
Develop engineering/architectural (RCP/Floor Plan) drawings, calculations, acoustical modeling
Identify and address technical or logistical impediments to delivering scope of work
Identify special requirements for project, including but not limited to: test equipment, specialized tools, rigging support
Test audio DSP or video processing systems software required for system functionality
Provide engineering support to project installation team when needed
Provide technical oversight on commissioning of systems both in-house and on-site
Meet with current/prospective vendors to help evaluate products
Provide weekly project updates for clients
Design wall plates and overlays
Test integrated systems and perform troubleshooting when needed
Provide engineering/control system programming support to project installation team as needed
Support Project Manager in project hand-off to the installation team when needed
Provide Project Manager documented test results from system testing and commissioning
Review project designs created by internal/external resources and submit Computer-Aided Design (CAD) revised drawings

 
Minimum Qualifications

Possess strong written and verbal communication skills
CTS Certification
CTS-D (Highly Desired)
Three (3) years minimum experience as an AV engineer with a minimum of five (5) years as an installation technician
Proficient with CAD software
Proficient in MS Word
Proficient in MS Excel
Able to obtain a DoD Security clearance

Technician Level III (Lead) – Position Description

Required Travel:              50%
 

JOB SUMMARY

Able to perform installation tasks for AV projects including but not limited to: pulling cable, installing connectors, and mounting projects. 

 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
·         Effectively communicate with employees, customers, and colleagues
·         Delegate tasks to the other techs in the field
·         Maintain the master set of as built drawings
·         Report daily to the PM via phone followed by a detailed job site report
·         Responsible for punch list and task list completion
·         Responsible for RMA acquisition in the field
·         Quality control inspections of equipment and workmanship

Perform System Acceptance Test (SAT)
Support with as-built drawings

·         Take pictures of the installation including the back of the racks and inside equipment bays (if permissible by client)
·         Maintain a clean work site throughout the installation

Assist with client project sign off document completion

Perform lead role on four (4) projects, each with a minimum value of $200,000
Perform lead role on one (1) project with a minimum value of $500,000
Should possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in MS Word
Proficient in MS Excel
